@bot: Thank you for your responses! I didn’t even think about those aspects of the group, and I think you’re particularly spot-on about your second reason there. None of the girls feel like they have their sometimes overbearing, stereotypical personas that they do in their other respective groups.

@Wahashimoto: Airi’s pretty low on my list of favorite C-uties too– really, if it weren’t for her personality, I’d probably tend to think of her a lot more negatively than I do now. But it’s funny how Buono seems to be changing peoples’ views on some of the girls– particularly Momoko, isn’t it?

@Misa: Aww, I sort of like their hairstyles. They’re totally wild, and you don’t get to see that all the time in H!P. XD And thank you for the congratulations!

Haha, at the beginning of the entry, I thought “Wow, we are so similar!”. I saw the line-up for Buono! and was hoping for as little Airi as possible.

To be totally honest Airi is my least favourite C-utie (in fact, least favourite of all H!P members past and present) and Momoko used to be my least favourite Berry. I used to go around sprouting hatred for Momoko-kind. But I think being in a different group made her like me more (basically because Airi is there… so that was a given) she’s actually now in the top four of my Berryz preference. As for Miyabi, she’s like the lead singer you have to like so she’s what got me to actually listen to the group in the first place.

And I agree with bot’s second point – that being in a different group changes their whole role.

And that fifth picture is awesome. Momo’s got back!

Anyway, the easy-way-out and multi-purpose answer is that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and that the buono chemistry works.

Reading the post like a comprehension passage yields three answers:

1. spunky music/image which isn’t excessively cute or wotafied, related to which

2. you get to see different sides of the members. different group = different dynamic/ configuration/ roles. airi isn’t so overexposed and momoko isn’t so hypercute. with due respect to Tsunku, he sometimes overuses a certain girl as a certain presence.

3. conversion– maybe when you have to be converted to something you like it more. like if you weren’t born into a religion, you know? (nanchuu now proceeds to play)

But the million dollar answer is that you have seen the power of the Peach Child :p
